The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga stands no chance of unseating President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raphael Tuju has said.
According to Tuju, the Jubilee Party Secretary General, Raila is not 'serious' in his quest to occupy the country's top seat.
"Today (Thursday) President Kenyatta is in Bungoma and West Pokot counties campaigning but Raila is here in Nairobi holding press conferences. I want to give him a free advice. Elections are won by numbers and can only sympathise with Raila because his strategy will fail," he said while addressing journalists outside IEBC offices at the Anniversary Towers.
Tuju also dismissed Raila's threats to boycott the October 17 election for not being consulted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in setting the poll date.
"'I was not consulted' is a hangover from the coalition government. They have been issuing threats now and then and we are asking them to be honourable this time and keep off the election. Uhuru will get a walkover," said the former Cabinet Minister.
