The National Super Alliance (NASA) has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko asking that he files charges against IEBC officials who bungled the August 8 General Election.

NASA said that the Supreme Court did not exonerate any of the IEBC officials and that they (officials) must be prosecuted over election malpractices.

"Following that decision, your office has made a statement that it will evaluate the full text of the Judgment and make a determination on whether or not to commence and proceed with criminal prosecutions.

"Our express instructions are that the commissioners and members of the secretariat not only committed criminal acts of which they should be held personally responsible, but also aided and abetted the commission of offences under the Elections Offences Act, the Public Procurement Act, the Elections Act and breaches of the Constitution," read part of the statement to the DPP.

NASA wants IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, CEO Ezra Chiloba and ICT director James Muhati charged for electoral offences.

Others on the list are Immaculate Kassait, Molu Boya, Abdi Guliye, Marijan Hussein and Praxedes Tororey.
