Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Raila Odinga has said that their main agenda for coming together is to save Kenyans from the misrule of the Jubilee government.
Odinga insisted that it did no matter who the opposition would field as their preferred candidate and warne d Jubilee to prepare for a fierce battle in the run up to the 2017 polls.
"We are coming together to remove this 'animal' called Jubilee from power, that is the common ground for forming a formidable force to eject them from power and this with no doubt is going to happen," he told Citizen TV on Thursday.
"By doing this we are bringing so many people together in the coalition, and I am saying it does not have Kalonzo, Wetangula or me, it can be anybody else. Let them be prepared to have a leveled playing ground," he added.
In a reaction to calls from several Jubilee party members that he should retire from active politics Odinga said age can not be a factor to consider while electing leaders, saying Kenyans should choose leader who would deliver to them.
"They have also been saying that Raila is old but even Trump who is my age-mate is going to be a leader of a country fifty times bigger than Kenya," he said.
"To me it is the ideas and ideals that somebody has that should determine if somebody should be elected president and i am ready to serve the people of Kenya if they give me the chance to lead them," he added.
