Nasa co-principal Raila ODinga has termed it illegal what he said were efforts by the state to use the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to taint the image of the opposition.Raila said that it was a regrettable thing for the government to use the taxpayer's money on fighting the opposition."Jubilee has deployed the services of the NIS to feed media with information exaggerating discord in Opposition ranks. The aim is to make our supporters give up and also to break up the Opposition," he said.He said that the service was being used as a tool to tarnish the image of Nasa among the business community by presenting a fake image of tough economic times once Nasa comes to power."It is a criminal activity for NIS, which is a public body funded by tax payers, to engage in partisan politics but we know NIS is actively involved in campaigning against the Opposition. NIS is busy profiling Opposition leaders and telling the business community how a NASA regime would be bad for them," he added.Raila also dismissed claims of a possible infighting within Nasa, adding that all the four principals were equals among each other and that each one of them was employing what he deems good to enable him win the presidential ticket.
