National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential contender Raila Odinga has slammed the Jubilee leadership for what he says is taking credit for his projects in Kisii county.
Odinga who was on his 7th visit to the county this year alone said president Uhuru Kenyatta had not tarmacked a single tarmac of road in Kisii contrary to his claims that he has done so."The president was here a day ago and I could hear him chest thumping that he has tarmacked roads in this area. That is all false,I am the one who tarmacked roads here when I was minister for roads,he is taking credit for my projects," he said. His visit to the area came barely a day after the president had toured the area to drum up support for his re-election.
Uhuru who was in the company of his deputy William Ruto and other Jubilee leaders had earlier blasted Odinga for doing nothing to Kisii county despite his various government positions.
"What did he do for you when he was minister for roads? Nothing, not even a single tarmac of road," Uhuru said.
Stakes are high in the battle for the over half a million votes in the county with both Nasa and Jubilee trying to sway the electorate to their side even as the election date draws closer.
