Speaking after visiting a protestor who was seriously beaten up by the police, the duo called for sobriety from the police force noting that it was inhumane for the security men to use force against unarmed Kenyans.

"These kinds of inhumane actions by the police on citizens exercising their constitutionally granted rights are totally unacceptable. Kenya as a country should remain true to democracy governed by the freedom that is enshrined in the Bill of Rights," posted Raila on his Facebook page.

The Monday protests by the opposition ushered in an ugly turn out as the youth engaged the police in running battles, robbing from the public and damaging public property. On various social media platforms, Kenyans raised their opinions regarding the protests.

As the police get roasted for using unnecessary force, the Inspector General, Joseph Boinnet has come to their rescue explaining that the demos were controllable and so the police never used or fired live bullets but only used teargas.
