They are the face of NASA, two political operators who have been together for the longest time now.
Keen to project the strength of their bromance, Raila and Kalonzo have made countless public appearances together, smiling at the cameras and even doing a jig.
But behind that veneer of joyous bromance lies strong pain and distress that they have battled hard to suppress.
They have lost two successive elections to Uhuru and Ruto; a loss that has made many people question the viability of their ticket.
The ranks of their political alliance have lost many stalwarts to the ruling Jubilee Party, leaving them badly exposed.
As if that is not enough, tragedy has also reared its ugly head into their personal lives.
Raila Odinga lost his son, Fidel Odinga, a dark moment that struck hard at the family.
In the build-up to the 2017 elections, his beloved daughter was taken ill and had to be flown out of the country for specialised treatment.
Lately, Kalonzo Musyoka has been missing in action and this is because his wife has been hospitalised in a German hospital.
There were reports in the media that Kalonzo's wife had been sick even during the campaign period.
According to a story by a mainstream publication, Raila had expressed his fears to allies that Kalonzo might bail out of NASA and join Jubilee because of the personal issues he has been battling.
Running an effective campaign has proved quite an uphill task.
In the aftermath of the unprecedented Supreme Court annulment of the presidential election, the two were forced to request for donations from their supporters on live TV.
Pundits have intimated that these storms might force Raila and Kalonzo to part ways but only time will tell.
