National Super Alliance flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka seem to be reading different scripts when it comes to the six-piece voting pattern.
Speaking Friday night, during an Iftar (fast-ending evening meal during Ramadhan) hosted by Mombasa governor Hassan Joho, the two principals differed on how the Nasa affiliate parties should vote.
Kalonzo asked the Orange movement leaders to stop campaigning for ODM candidates alone saying the coalition also has other hopefuls from their sister parties.
“Don’t say ODM, ODM and take everything because that will leave us with nothing,” Musyoka is quoted by the Nation.
“We have Amani National Congress and other partners in Nasa. Let’s cease from asking the electorates to only elect ODM nominees,” Kalonzo added.
However, Raila asked his co-principals to drum up support for candidates in their parties and maintained ODM supporters should vote for their party’s aspirants.
“I know Mr Musyoka will advocate for Wiper, Mr Mudavadi ANC, Mr Moses Wetangula Ford Kenya and Mr Isaac Ruto CCM. But I say elect ODM candidates in Mombasa,” Raila said.
