Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is a man on a mission.
And his mission is to ensure by all means his name is on the ballot paper next year at the expense of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.
According to the Senator who is also Cord coalition co-principal, the duo have failed before in their bid for the country's top seat and hence they should not vie again.
He says he is in a prime position to unseat President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto come 2017.
"I have been quite categorical. My brothers have run before and I am the one who has not been tested and whose political tricks have not been left out of the bag yet," he said.
"I am the one who has given them assurance that I will be able to deliver a stronger punch against Jubilee and deliver victory for our coalition, which will be the victory for the country. The person who can do that is Wetangula."
The opposition coalition has in the past few months been shaky with all the three principals insisting they are the best suited to face Uhuru.
In a bid to prevent any fallout, the coalition has assembled a group of experts who will analyse the chances of each of the partners making it to State House in 2017 before the report is officially presented on who the outfit will back to face the Jubilee pair in 2017.
Earlier in the week, Kalonzo said he will only support Raila if the later assures him that he will win the seat this time round.
