The swearing-in of Opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as people's president and deputy president respectively has received boost.

This is after a section of Kenyans living in diaspora endorsed the two leaders noting they do not recognise the presidency of Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

Standard reports the diaspora supporters also said they will form their people's assembly in solidarity with Kenyans before the end of the month ahead of the swearing in slated for Tuesday, January 30, 2018.

"We are committed to the NASA course in the fight for electoral injustice. In the year of 2018, it is our hope and belief that our nation will be liberated. We in the diaspora paid close attention and watched in anguish at the embarrassment of what is now regarded around the world as a farcical political system," the group's representative, Ali Abdi said in a statement on Thursday.

"Both the Kenyan and international law protects this right, yet we have witnessed the illegitimate Jubilee government bulldoze Kenyans through threats, arrests, intimidation, torture and murder. It was a shame for Uhuru to praise security forces for their activities during the flawed election," Abdi added.
