President Uhuru Kenyatta admits that the country is facing serious social-economic problems since independence but blames opposition leaders for the mance his government faces.
Kenyatta, who was in an official tour at Nyamira County also said his government had done quite enough compared to previous regimes.
In yet another expected jibe on opposition leaders, he questioned the top opposition brass’s track record adding that they did little while in government.
“I do not deny that we have a little issue in the country. I have only been in power for only four years and you can see what I am able to do,” Uhuru told a huge gathering at Magwagwa.
He added: “Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula have been in government for record 100-yrs but they did nothing to change this country.”
With only five months to August polls, Kenyatta has taken his campaigns to traditional opposition strongholds on Coast and Nyanza.
While Odinga was Prime Minister at some point, both Kalonzo and Mudavadi served as Vice Presidents in previous regimes.
