Kariuki, who passed on in 1975, was found dead at Ngong Forest, a week after he was reported missing by his family.

Speaking on Friday during Keen’s funeral, Odinga lauded the veteran politician and challenged Kenyans to emulate his nationalism values.

“When JM died, I remember we recovered his body at Ngong Hills after a week. I met John Keen and I remember him proposing that Ngong’ Hyenas to be honoured with Nobel Peace Prize for sparing JM’s body,” he said.

“He was a nationalist who defended the interests of the weak and minority in the society. He is worthy to be emulated by all of us,” added Odinga.

Kariuki, the then critic of President Jomo Kenyatta’s government, was killed by unknown people, precipitating heated debate among political elites.
