In a press statement, Raila asked Kenyans to reflect on vices such as corruption, tribalism, together with politics of marginalization and their effects.

"We must not only commemorate and celebrate what we begun and achieved half a century ago. We must also reflect on where we have failed and ashamed our founding fathers and the next generation and with that in mind, accept responsibility and confront the future with new honesty and commitment,” Raila said.

He further urged Kenyans to reflect on the dreams the founders of the nation wished to achieve in their fight for independence among them, eradication of poverty, ignorance and diseases.
