Mr Kuria, a perennial critic of Mr Odinga was held for over 72hrs last week after allegedly saying Mr Odinga should be eliminated through assassination.

And Mr Mogeni on Monday lauded Kuria for taking a ‘bold’ step for the sake of integration among Kenyan communities.

“I have heard of a planned meeting between Odinga and Kuria and I think it’s a bold step by Mr Kuria for the sake of integration among Kenyan communities. Politicians should not be the source of disintegration among our people,” he said.

“It’s a timely meeting and I think it is going to educate many Kenyans that there are no permanent enemies in politics. Kenyans should live peacefully without necessarily being incited against each other by members of the political class,” he said.

Mr Mogeni, who is also eyeing Nyamira County Senatorial seat, challenged Mr Kuria to apologise publically for making ‘detrimental remarks’ about Mr Odinga to show that he had nothing personal with the former premier.

“And it’s my suggestion that Kuria goes on board to apologise for calling for Raila’s assassination. We are one people and we need to forge forward as a team. Respecting other communities and their stand is very fundamental instead of making detrimental remarks,” he said.
