According to the pollster, if the elections were held today, the former Prime Minister would get 61 per cent of the region's votes against his rival President Kenyatta who will only poll 29 per cent.
However, despite trailing Raila by a wide margin, President Kenyatta seems to be gaining ground in the region that overwhelmingly voted for Raila in the 2013 elections.
This therefore means that assuming there is 100 per cent voter turnout in the region during the August 8 polls, Raila would garner slightly over 1 million votes against President Kenyatta's 500,000.
During the 2013 elections, Raila garnered 707,541 votes in the Coast region representing 78 per cent against Kenyatta's 160,083 which translates to 22 per cent of the total vote.
Though he lost to Raila Odinga by a wide margin, President Kenyatta's significant number of votes in the region came from Mombasa County where he garnered 64,793 votes.
President Kenyatta's upward surge may be attributed to his numerous trips to the region to woo voters.
Besides that, top ODM MPs in the region have ditched the party for President Kenyatta's Jubilee which is keen to make amends to its dismal performance in the 2013 elections.
