Political analyst ProfEdward Kisiang'ani has indicated that the ODM party leader Raila Odinga might clinch the National Super Alliance (Nasa) presidential ticket.
The analyst noted that the former prime minister is the most popular principal in the Nasa coalition and also enjoys a lot of support from Kenyans.
“From the way things are looking, the most likely candidate is going to be Raila Odinga,” said Kisiang'ani.
“He has been more prominent and he has a backup of a lot of people from his community who think they have that entitlement to it,'' he added, Thursday.
Kisiang'ani elaborated that the opposition leader has the ability to mobilise masses on his side compared to the other three Nasa principals.
“He has always shown that probably he is ahead of the park in terms of mobilising the voters towards his side,” he noted.
“If we talk about the numbers he has been mobilising, he looks like the most likely candidate,” he said during a television interview.
Nasa is yet to name its presidential candidate who will battle it out with Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 polls. The other thre principals include Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC) and Moses Wetangula (Ford-Kenya).
Reports indicate the coalition will unveil its presidential flag bearer on April 10.
