Nominated MP Oburu Odinga has come to the defense of Cord leader Raila Odinga who has not given the Jubilee administration a break for their laxity in the fight against corruption.

According to Dr Oburu, it is Raila's love for Kenya that makes him consistent in his criticisms against runaway corruption in the country.

Speaking during a fundraiser at Nyawita Secondary School in Bondo on Saturday, the lawmaker challenged the current leadership to up their game in the fight against corruption.

He challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to be always taking seriously what Raila says on matters corruption even as he cautioned them to avoid personal attacks and insults against the former Prime Minister.

"Kenyans would not have known about numerous scandals in this country were it not for Raila who has constantly unearthed the ill deeds of the government," he said.

He added that what Raila has been raising is true and it is up on the President to crack the whip on all corrupt officials in his government.

Dr Oburu's comments come at a time when the Ministry of Health is embroiled in an alleged loss of Sh5 billion.

At the same time, Kilifi county government has also been on the spotlight following the loss of Sh51 million.
