Veteran politician Raila Odinga may after all not quit politics as widely expected ahead of 2022 presidential elections.
Known for his consistency in local politics, Raila had earlier hinted possibility of exiting politics to pave way for younger politicians.
At Kipkelion East on Thursday, Raila insisted that Deputy President William Ruto may need him in 2022 polls.
"Even this Ruto cannot be president without support of Raila. Do you think he can really make without me?" asked Raila in reference to 2022 politics.
He added: "I can make him president if he I want. The fact is, I did not lose elections to Uhuru Kenyatta and even Ruto knows that."
It is not the first time Raila is changing his mind given that at some point in 2014, he had contemplated quiting politics.
And his latest announcement, could create more jitters within NASA coalition given his pre-election MoU of possible exit from politics.
His analyst David Osiany says Raila's utterances could as well mean that he has shifted his focus to 2022 despite his widely anticipated swearing-in next week.
