Nasa presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, seems to have changed his tone on independent candidates.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader a fortnight ago asked his supporters not to vote for the independents.

Raila argued that ODM needed more MPs in Parliament.

However, the former prime minister during a meeting with a group of independent candidates at Orange House on Tuesday, noted that he was not against them.

Raila held a private meeting with the independent candidates led by Nyatike MP Omondi Anyanga, former assistant minister Ayiecho Olweny, Kisumu Women Rep Rose Nyamunga, former PS Carey Orege and Richard Muga.

“Raila needs everyone. He needs every single vote available if he is to win the elections and does not have the liberty to choose who he wants support from,” said Political analyst and lawyer Martin Oloo.

Busia senator Amos Wako had also criticised the opposition chief for rooting for the ODM six-piece voting.
