NASA luminaries have been caught flat-footed following the government's decision to withdrawal police from historic Uhuru Park decision.
Aware of a possible confrontations with the police, a source has revealed, Raila's swearing-in was to be done in a private location before proceeding to Uhuru Park for a public rally.
"We expected confrontations with the police and that is why the event was scheduled to take place in a private residence," said ODM official, who spoke in confidence.
He added:"We have to now change tact and head to Uhuru Park for the formal oath taking. That is why we have a little bit of delay."
At the venue, ODM chairman John Mbadi insisted that the event would go on as planned adding that the logistical challenges should not 'worry' anybody.
"By midday the programme shall start. We shall ensure the public address will be set shortly. The warning of the police would have however delayed us a bit."
And the latest twist would therefore mean that Raila would have to put off the private ceremony and face the public.
