Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga may decide to forego his presidential ambitions and support one of his co-principals in the coalition.
This was observed by one of the coalition’s MCA in Nakuru, Daniel Ambale, who is also the Nakuru County Assembly Minority leader and representative of Kaptembwa Ward.
Ambale, while talking to our reporter observed that experience had shown that the opposition leader was not a selfish politician and leader, but one whose main interest is to bring reforms and restore democracy in the country.
He observed that it would not be a surprise if Odinga decided to throw his weight behind one of his co-principals in the coalition for the sake of unity in the opposition outfit, which is dedicated at safeguarding reforms and democracy in the country.
“Raila has now and again clarified that he does not have to be president to restore democracy and reforms in governance. His leadership spirit lies in the welfare of all Kenyans and that is why for two times, he conceded defeat in the controversial presidential elections,” said Ambale.
“He may weigh all options and decide to support one of his co-principals as he struggles with the second liberation crusade,” added Ambale.
The MCA added that the former Prime Minister was keen on reforms in government to ensure all Kenyans are treated equally in terms of resource allocations, and that is why he was on the fore front in the enactment of the new constitution that provide for devolved system of government.
“History will judge Raila as a selfless politician whose desire is to see justice being done for all Kenyans. He detests tribalism and corruption that so far has reduced majority of Kenyans to paupers,” observed Ambale.
