Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama reunited with ODM leader Raila Odinga, several years after the latter pushed for his move to EPL.
In 2010, Raila held talks with former British Prime Minister David Cameron over Wanyama's possible move to England after he had been denied working permit when Arsenal attempted to sign him.
And on Tuesday in Niarobi, the two held a lengthy meeting before holding a press conference at Capitol Hill.
"He is an example that Kenya's football has substantially improved. In fact, the country cannot be underestimated anymore," Raila said.
On his part, Wanyama, who is set to play in Champions League next season after Hotspur's dramatic season in 2017/18, encouraged youths to be disciplined whenever trying their luck.
"They all have a chance to play outside the country. I encourage them to be disciplined. We have talents who can go far," he said.
Before joining the London based club, Wanyama had a short spell in Southampton and Celtic clubs.
While playing for Celtic, he managed to lift Scottish Cup and several domestic league trophies besides winning individual accolades.
