NASA flag-bearer Raila Odinga has again named former CS Ann Waiguru in the NYS scandal saying she was at the centre of the saga that saw Kenya lose billions to looting hands.
Speaking at the Kenya Presidential Debate held at Catholic University of East Africa on Monday, the presidential aspirant said he complained about Waiguru's conduct but the government came to her rescue.
"We found that some names had been expunged (from the list of corruption) and I challenged... and I showed him where the name had been removed," Raila said.
"Then came the NYS case and I told him I know what is happening in Kibra, I know how NYS was being looted and I said the suspect is so-and-so. They came out and said that I should leave that lady alone. That I should face him and his deputy. He called a press conference in State House. When later on evidence emerged linking the minister to the scandal, (the) Deputy President went to a church in Githurai and said that that lady should stop speaking too much English. (That) she must answer. For your information, that lady is the candidate of Jubilee in the gubernatorial elections in Kirinyaga," he detailed.
Asked what he would have done if he was in charge of the government, Raila said he would have bulldozed the corrupt officials Raila said he could have dealt with her strongly in the style of Tanzania John Magufuli.
"I would have taken action Magufuli style. I would have Magufuli-ed her," he said.
