NASA leader Raila Odinga has now called upon those opposing the leadership of Kisii County Governor James Ongwae to stop it and instead work with him towardstowards bettering the lives of Kisii people.
Speaking on Friday during the burial of the fallen former don Prof.Tumbo Oweri, Raila said that the voter who moved to the court of appeal to challenge the High Court decision that upheld Ongwae's win, is being pushed by a section of leaders who do not want Ongwae in office or prosperity.
"Kisii County politicians should follow my way to ensure that there is unity in the region and I urge those opposing Governor Ongwae's win in court to withdraw the case and instead work together towards realising the prosperity of the county" said Odinga.
Raila also urged all politicians from the region to put aside their political rivalry and work together towards realizing the pre-election promises they made to their supporters.
Raila's sentiments comes at a time Governor Ongwae's win hangs on the balance after a voter Onsando Makori filed a petition at Kisumu Court of Appeal to challenge the Kisii High Court decision to uphold Governor Ongwae's win.
Governor Ongwae has, however, remained optimistic saying that he will be vindicated and come out victoriously.
