A Jubilee senator has warned over NASA leader’s Raila Odinga’s latest move of close ranks with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking on Sunday at a church in Tharaka Nithi, senator Kindiki Kithure welcomed the move but cautioned Jubilee to be careful dealing with the opposition chief.
"Jubilee should be cautious so that Raila does not mess it ahead of 2022," Kindiki said.Kindiki was referring to a political agreement within Jubilee that the party will back Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.
"Raila has a history of breaking parties whenever he joins coalitions...he formed a coalition with KANU in 1997 using LDP only to implode it from within," Kindiki is quoted by the Star.
He added: "Raila is like a camel that told a house owner to allow it shelter only its head from the rains only to ask for his hump to be allowed in too.
"After it was finally allowed, the entire camel came inside and the house crumbled....We do not want that to happen to Jubilee." The coming together of Raila and Uhuru seems to have created suspicions within Ruto’s camp.
It is still unclear what role Raila will be playing at the national arena but there are fears he might eclipse Ruto dimming his chances of clinching the top seat in 2022.
