Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna has said he is ready to defend opposition leader Raila Odinga against the unending onslaught from Jubilee leaders.Miguna, a former adviser to Raila said the opposition chief’s record in Kenya’s democratisation is so clear that no politician can challenge anytime soon.Miguna served as Raila’s aide beginning 2008 when then President Mwai Kibaki brokered a deal that delivered the grand coalition government in which Raila served as Prime Minister.The two, however, cut ranks in 2011 when Miguna was sacked following the maize scandal that shook the PM’s office leading to the sacking of key personnel in Raila’s office.“Let me make myself clear. Yes, Raila Odinga mistreated me, but he did not kill me. I'm going to defend him to death against the murderers!” Miguna tweeted on Friday.He was responding incidents in Bondo where police shot and killed anti-IEBC protesters on Friday.“Freedom or liberation is never given. It's fought for and won. We, the Kenyan freedom fighters will fight and win. No surrender. No fear!” said Miguna in an old tweet.NASA has been holding protests aimed at ejecting IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba form office. The opposition accuses Chiloba of conniving with Jubilee officials to rig the August 8 presidential election in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s favour.Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Thursday banned the demos in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu Central Business Districts. He said the demos negatively affected the free flow of traffic and generally, business.Police on Friday engaged in running battles with protesters in the three cities. Three people were shot dead after the anti-IEBC demos turned chaotic in Bondo.
