Mvita MP Abdulwasmad Nassir has rubbsihed claims that Raila Odinga and former retired President Daniel Arap Moi Thursday meeting at Moi's Kabarak home was meant to weaken Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

In an interview on KTN on Thursday night, Nassir said that the meeting was not about 2022 succession politics.

He said that the meeting was a coursety call meant to check on the former president after his recent knee surgery.

"The meeting did not discuss sucession politics neither was it meant to weaken DP Ruto or any other person politically," he said.

The Mvita MP stated that the meeting focused on the country's unity and peace moving forward.

Nassir asked politicians to halt 2022 debates and focus on serving the people.

The meting between Raila and Moi has elicited reactions with a section of Kenyans and political analysts arguing that it will affect DP Ruto"s 2022 bid.

The Thursday meeting between Raila and Moi comes a month after the famous hasndhake between the former prime minister and president Uhuru Kenyatta.
