Cord leader Raila Odinga is a public figure who attracts love and hate from the public in equal measure. Former Vice-president the late Kijana Wamalwa once said there are two groups in Raila circle: Those with RailaPhobia and others with RailaMania.
On Wednesday the Enigma of Kenyan politics melted the hearts of many Kenyans on twitter not by his usual 'Vitendawili' but photos of him spending time with his grandchild at his Capitol Hill office in Upper Hill.
In the photos, Raila is seen playing with the girl and helping her scribble on a notepad.
On his official twitter account Raila said:
"Special moments with my granddaughter Senayi who paid me a surprise visit at the office today."
Kenyans on twitter took their time to congratulate Raila of the great moment, here is a few sample of the tweets:
Reagan Sandui said: "That's great Rao you are lucky to have seen them, grandchildren, what else is more fulfilling than that, big man [sic]?".
Others, however, took their time to advice Raila to desist from picketing and take care of Kenya as he did to his grandchild.
For instance twitter user George Munai told the former Prime minister that if he concentrated more on family than picketing he will command for love from Kenyans.
Cord has since suspended the weekly demos as talks on IEBC takes shape.
