Raila and Mudavadi spoke in Tharaka Nithi County, accusing the Jubilee administration of successfully branding the Meru and Embu as cousins of the Kikuyu for political suitability.

"After the General Election is over, the region reverts to being called Mt Kenya East and is no longer part of the larger Mt Kenya," Raila claimed.

Squatters from the Mt. Kenya region had prepared a petition to hand over to Raila about an unsuccessful pledge to resettle them as confirmed on Wednesday by James Maina Mugo of Futa Magendo Action Network (FMAN)

"We have finalised the document and are seeking an appointment with him in Nairobi to see how he can assist squatters since the Government has failed," Maina said.

The opposition chiefs called on residents to see through the Jubilee lie and hoodwinking Kenyans with non-existent projects, and asked residents to vote for the Opposition next year.

"I have come here today after hearing your cry of distress," Raila said.

"If Jubilee cannot solve a problem in its backyard, we wish to tell you to try us because we can do it," he added.
