President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cousin Kathleen Kihanya has said that Cord leader Raila Odinga will have to issue a public apology for dragging her in a corruption scandal she was not involved in.
Speaking at a press briefing on Saturday, Ms Kihanya who is also a Sundales International Limited director said that she was ready to work with investigating authorities till their innocence is established, upon which she said Odinga must apologise.
She termed her inclusion in the Health Ministry saga as unscrupulous and unfair from the former Prime Minister whom she accused of playing politics to tarnish her name.
"It is morally wrong, unspeakable, unscrupulous, unfair and unjust for any individual to play politics with people’s livelihoods and futures," she said.
"It is also deeply distressing to imagine that in a time when entrepreneurship should be encouraged, individuals can be intimidated out of doing business and creating jobs by fear that someone may attack them for the sport of political mileage," she added.
She called upon investigation agencies to speed up their probe and added that anyone found guilty of corruption “should without exception be charged and jailed”.
"I would like to finish with the words of Raila at the World Economic Forum: 'Do not condemn people unheard. Give people a chance to be able to explain themselves'," she said.
