An opinion poll has indicated that Opposition leader Raila Odinga is narrowing the gap between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In the past one month, Raila has gained 5 per cent, while Uhuru has lost 5 per cent.
The poll indicates that if elections were held today, Uhuru would get 48.1 per cent of votes cast, while Raila would attain 28.2 per cent.
In January, Uhuru had 53.9 per cent while Raila had 23.5 per cent approval.
Over 2,000 people participated in the opinion poll conducted by the Star online.
The number of undecided voters has also declined from 17.5 per cent to 16.2 per cent over the past one month.
In the polls, Raila scored highest in Kisumu County (81 per cent) and the lowest in Murang’a County (1 per cent).
His arch-rival Uhuru scored highest in Murang’a (89 per cent) and the lowest in Kisumu (3 per cent).
The polls suggest that Uhuru’s approval ratings have declined due to the ongoing doctors’ strike, which is now 76 days old.
