National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga and his principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula are scheduled to usher in the new year (2018) in Mombasa.
According to ODM Director of Communication Philip Etale, NASA leaders will lead supporters in welcoming the new year at the Coastal county.
The opposition leaders will later on Monday hold a series of meet the people rallies across Mombasa.
Etale says that the rallies will be in preparation for Raila's planned swearing-in set for early next year.
He said that plans for the swearing-in are on top gear and will be communicated by the relevant committee at the appropriate time.
"Our leader Raila Odinga alongside his principals will be ushering in the year in Mombasa where a series of meetings will also be held to assess preparations for the planned swearing in," he said.
It will be the first time Raila will be meeting his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka who jetted back to the country from Germany on Wednesday where he has been for close to three months attending to his wife Pauline Musyoka who was receiving specialized treatment.
The leaders will be meeting as fears of disgruntlement and suspicion among affiliate party members continue to emerge.
NASA has maintained that it does not recognize Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency and is ready to swear-in Raila Odinga as the people's president.
Raila says that he is not afraid of taking oath and is ready to die fighting for electoral reforms.
The government has warned NASA against the planned swearing-in that it has termed illegal and highly treasonous and whose punishment is death.
