Former West Mugirango MP James Gesami has claimed that ODM party leader Raila Odinga neglected him after he lost in the ODM nominations to vie for Nyamira governor race.
Gesami, an independent candidate unsuccessfully vied for Nyamira governor during the August 8 polls.
He has now joined the ruling Jubilee Party to support president Uhuru's re-election.
"I have been on a break from politics after I lost the governor seat. I have been consulting and now I have decided to support president Uhuru's re-election I after Uhuru and DP William Ruto approached me to support them," said Gesami.
He accused ODM party leader for neglecting him since he lost to Nyamira governor John Nyagarama in the nominations.
"I lost in the ODM nominations, Raila has never looked for me. There is anything wrong me supporting president Uhuru," he added.
But, his defection has been criticized by former Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire who has said Gesami is a self seeking politicians who will have no impact in Gusii politics.
"Gusii region is a NASA zone. Gesami's defection is driven by personal selfish needs and satisfaction", said Bosire.
