Kiambu senator Kimani Wamatnagi has hit out at cord leader Raila Odinga accusing him of insincerity in the war against graft.
The Kiambu senator claims that Raila is allegedly protecting some people linked to graft.
In an interview on Citizen TV Thursday morning, Wamatangi said that it is unfortunate that the Cord leader has shown double standards in regards to war against graft.
Wamatangi said that Kenyans are watching the Cord leader’s move adding that suspects linked to graft whether in Jubilee or Cord must be exposed without favour.
“Raila Odinga has shown clear bias in his efforts to speak out against corruption and we are not surprised,” said the senator during the interview.
Wamatangi claimed that Raila’s move to allegedly protect some people linked to graft in ODM counties is hypocrisy of the highest order.
The Kiambu senator stated that corruption will end if politicians stop double standards and hypocrisy
“We know that most politicians both in government and opposition are not clean when it comes to corruption and their evil deeds must be exposed and condemned on equal measure,” he said.
The senator said that the only way to tame out graft is by kicking out corrupt politicians and individuals during election time.
On Wednesday, a section of Jubilee politicians led by National Assembly leader of Majority Aden Duale accused Raila of allegedly siding with ODM counties linked to graft.
The MPs accused Raila of criticising the national government when it comes to corruption scandals and keeping quite on graft scandals in counties affiliated to ODM.
The Jubilee MPs claimed that Raila is allegedly benefiting from corruption at counties that are linked to Cord.
Duale alleged that ODM counties are directly funding Raila’s political rallies. “We know that Raila receives monthly stipends from ODM counties and we will expose more of him,” he said as quoted by the Nation.
Raila has been accused of allegedly protecting some people linked to graft in his camp. He is accused of keeping quiet on the alleged Sh1.18 Billion theft in Kilifi County.
Raila on Wednesday defended Governor Amason Kingi against the alleged graft at the Kilifi government.
He said that the governor Kingi is clean and that the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) should go for the people who stole the public funds at the county.
