The Friday tour to the region will be the first of its kind for Raila since the 2013 elections despite having made several stop overs in the neighbouring Kisii County.

During Wednesday’s interview with Bosire, he confirmed that Raila will meet youth and women league officials alongside the party’s county officials before meeting religious leaders and later the elected leaders.

“I want to confirm that the party leader Raila Odinga will be visiting Nyamira on Friday and will address a public rally at Baraza gardens after holding three other crucial indoor meetings,” added the ODM national treasurer.

“He will meet all county ODM officials that will comprise women and youth leagues and mainstream party officials. He will also hold talks with religious leaders and finally have crucial talks with people elected on an ODM ticket,” he said.

According to Bosire, the nominations procedures, party loyalty and the IEBC stalemate will dominate the talks a part from launching a strategic plan that will see more people register as voters.

“People have raised issues about the party’s nominations and loyalty. The party leaders will handle that during the leaders meeting and will also give the way forward on the IEBC stalemate. We are also expecting him to launch a national strategic plan that will see party volunteers’ to encourage people to register as voters,” he said, adding that Raila is expected to return to the region in a month’s time.
