A massive political storm is brewing as the outgoing Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners are expected to issue a verdict on the fate of Raila's 2017 presidential bid.
The nine IEBC commissioners who tendered resignation documents in October will on Tuesday next week decide the fate of the Cord leader Raila Odinga’s political bid for the presidency come 2017, the IEBC’s senior executive Ezra Chiloba has said.
The commissioners, according to Chiloba, will be holding a meeting and one of the top issues in the agenda will be to make a concrete decision as to whether Odinga and tens of other political hopefuls who failed to open and file their campaign accounts with the IEBC before the set December 8th deadline, should be left out of the race.
If the commission effects its threat, then Raila Odinga will never feature in the presidential ballot come August 2017 elections.
