The National Super Alliance (Nasa) has said that there has been an assassination attempt against opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Through its Twitter account, Nasa coalition said Odinga survived an assassination attempt while he was being driven from JKIA after he landed at 11 am from the US.
Nasa shared a photo of Raila's car which had been hit on the windscreen.
"Hon. Raila Odinga has survived an attempt on his life while driving into town from JKIA, following his arrival from the US this morning. Fortunately, he and all co-passengers are well owing to his state-of-the-art bullet-proof car," Nasa tweeted, Friday.
Raila's son, Raila Junior also made same allegations, saying Odinga's car had been hit by the police.
"@RailaOdinga car hit by police," he tweeted.
His ODM party also said: "Party Leader PM @RailaOdinga car shot at moments ago in an apparent assassination attempt."
The police are however yet to make a statement about the same.
Police had warned Nasa and its supporters against accessing the Airport, saying they would not allow it. They however made entry to receive Odinga who has been out of the country for 10-days.
Supporters filled Mombasa and Jogoo Roads, walking alongside their leader despite some running battles.
Police had as well erected roadblocks to stop the team from heading to the capital city.
