The former prime minister of the republic of Kenya Raila Odinga is considered as the father of devolution according to by his elder brother Dr. Oburu Oginga.
Dr. Oburu who was speaking on a local radio station on Saturday night, referred to his brother as the 'Father and Mother' of devolution.
"My brother Hon. Raila Odinga was considered as the father of devolution. He came up with that issue during the Kibaki government but the government were not interested," he said.
"At the Bomas of Kenya, many feared talking about devolution until the late Dr. Odhdiambo Mbae stood and talked strongly about the importance of devolutio. The hall applauded with claps and agreeded that Dr. Odhiambo is the best candidate to be the chairman of Devolution," he added.
Oburu had not changed his interest to vie for the parliamentary seat of Bondo Constituency in the coming general elections. He was the former MP of Bondo constituency before he went to vie for the Siaya County gubernatorial seat.
Dr. Oburu also urged the youths not to be used by politicians to cause chaos during this time of campaign drumbeats. He asked youths to be focused on income generating activities that shape their future and not to depend on the little they will get from the politicians.
"I am asking our youths to be focused and not to be used by politicians to cause chaos during the nominations and campaigns," he added.
