[Photo|Raila Odinga]Kenya's Opposition leader Raila Odinga is definitely going through a hard time especially now that his arch-rival President Uhuru Kenyatta is being sworn in.Raila has severally vied for presidency in vain, including in the August elections where he said he garnered 8 million votes against Kenyatta's 7 million.Raila who is leading chariot calls for resistance of Uhuru's Jubilee government has a huge following of supporters from across the country.All of his supporters are looking unto him for the way forward especially after he promised to take them to the Biblical promised land.The journey to Canaan however stalled after the nullified August presidential election, especially after he boycotted the fresh presidential election on October 26.Opposition supporters are looking upon him, as he receives mockery messages from some government leaders.Some have told him to retire from politics or agree to work with Jubilee government.It is even more painful for the former prime minister after several high profile leaders, dignitaries, state representatives and presidents from across the world agreed to attend Uhuru's inauguration on November 28.The inauguration ceremony is as a result of the controversial October 26 poll which Raila declined to recognise.He had asked the international community to intervene and help restore Kenya's democracy ahead of another election in 90 days.Before the election, Odinga had called for an interim government, but this seems to be a drop in the ocean.Odinga could be under siege, especially after Uhuru takes oath of office and swear allegiance to protect the people of Kenya and property.His campaigns for change through political rallies have in the recent weeks faced opposition from Uhuru's government through the police. Several of his supporters have lost lives and the government paints him as the cause.In parliament, Uhuru's party, Jubilee, controls the majority. His lawmakers have vowed to go on with House businesses with or without opposition MPs.His call for reforms at the IEBC has never bore fruits. Even if an election is called right now, Odinga may not participate unless the electoral body is reformed.2022 politics are already taking shape, and Deputy President William Ruto is seen as the man according to an agreement by Jubilee party.The party may now start rooting for Odinga allies to consolidate support for a stronger team ahead of 2022.Odinga is now using his latest weapon against the Jubilee government, the People's Assembly and the economic boycott which pundits say may or may fail to trigger down Uhuru's leadership.
