Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has laughed off Opposition alliance NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga's Biblical "Joshua" tag.
Speaking on Thursday in Kilgoris, Narok county, the legislator noted that the biblical Joshua was not as old as the Opposition leader.
He further distinguished the biblical Joshua as a loyal person, observing tha Mr Odinga is a direct opposite of the biblical character.
"Joshua who was 50 years old was loyal to Moses, unlike Odinga who has never been loyal to those who were and are in authority in this country," he said.
"It is, therefore, wrong for him to compare himself to Joshua and yet he is 80 years. This is why it is important for leaders to read and understand the Bible," he added.
The lawmaker challenged the residents to reject the NASA candidate during the forthcoming general elections, drumming up support for Jubilee's President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Jubilee is different from the Opposition leaders because they give promises and yet when we look at their scorecard, there is no project they started and succeeded," he said.
