With the chaos that erupted at Moses Wetangula’s presidential bid launch, there is renewed push for ODM and Cord in general to state their stand on political violence.
In the video that has been circulating on Facebook, at one point during campaigns, opposition leader Raila Odinga was captured saying that the party is one of chaos and goons.
Speaking in Swahili in the undated video from Citizen TV, Odinga’s remarks are replayed over and over saying that the party is run guerrilla style.
Another man in the video identified as Omondi Oginga, a purported brother to Raila says he had his hand broken for criticising Raila’s leadership.
The video is likely to raise questions over Raila’s absence at Wetangula’s launch which was attended by Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka.
Raila was in Tanzania at the time.
At the launch in Kakamega on Saturday, there was blood and tears with anti-riot police being deployed at the historical Masinde Muliro Gardens after FORD-Kenya and ODM youths attacked each other. Both parties are in Cord.
Reports indicate one person lost his life while several others were injured in the clash. Ford K youths grabbed ODM T-shirts and caps and tore them into pieces before setting them on fire.
