National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has called upon his supporters to stay calm as he prepares measures to push UhuRuto out of office. In his new year message to Kenyans, the opposition vowed to trigger protests by supporters in bid to push Jubilee government to accept talks with the opposition in matters pertaining democracy. Some of the top issues NASA is pushing talks on include fixing Kenya’s electoral system, executive and security sector reforms, protection of the Judiciary and strengthening of devolution.“We are ready for dialogue as long as these issues are on the table. Alternatively, we take the issues to the people and let them decide without the involvement of the State,” Odinga said as reported by the Standard. Odinga went ahead to narrate how the opposition has made history citing the Supreme Court's nullification of UhuRuto's win in the August 8 general elections and ordered for a repeat election on 26 October in which he (Odinga) did not participate. “We made history with the nullification of August elections. The annulment of the August 8 presidential election by the Supreme Court was only the fourth such event in world history. Then we proceeded to make history by being the only country where the repeat election was again challenged in court for being a sham,” 'Baba' added. NASA leaders have maintained that they will not relent in their push for 'liberation' until electoral justice is achieved.
