Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi now believes that Opposition leader Raila Odinga chances of clinching presidency are as good as gone.

During an interview with a local media house, Abdullahi said Raila exited the political stage with his head held low after withdrawing from the Thursday's election.

"The very man whom the Supreme Court wrongly gave a second chance to, on his own motion, threw the towel and restored President Uhuru's initial victory," said the man who was President Uhuru Kenyatta's lawyer during Raila's petition.

Senior counsel Abdullahi said Uhuru, who is poised to be declared Kenya's Head of State, will be a legitimate President since he will be elected in a legally constituted election.

"Withdrawal of a candidate does not make the one elected illegitimate. Raila's withdrawal was a personal choice and must be respected," he remarked.

"Now he (Raila) has paved the way for swearing-in of President Kenyatta, let him allow the country to move on. Let us stop the agitation, demonstrations and violence that defined his political career," Abdullahi added.
