An ally of Deputy President William Ruto has said there are plans to have dynasties endorse Baringo senator Gideon Moi for the top seat in 2022.
The Nakuru MP said Ruto’s camp is concerned with the ongoing political ‘machinations’ among Kenya’s dynastic families.
“These dynasties want two things; one, a person they can control, and two, someone who can take care of their interests and continue handing over the baton. Our DP does not fit that and that is why they are fighting hi,” the MP, who sought anonymity, said.
The legislator said that they will do anything possible to make sure no one blocks Ruto from the presidency.
“Why are they plotting to bring them down? Why would president Kenyatta who the DP stood with through thin and thick during the 2017 poll renegade on his words?” the MP asked.
The politician said Baringo Senator Gideon Moi is ‘green’ when it comes to running the country and cannot be trusted with the presidency.
“Just like Moi’s project backfired in 2002, these dynasties project will backfire,” he added.
