Should Nyamira gubernatorial appeal go through, Governor John Nyagarama may as well be prepared for unceremonious exit from the ODM party.
Even though he managed to secure a victory in the High Court, the second term governor will yet again have a tough battle in Appeal's court over his August victory.
"It is grand breaking appeal and we are certainly sure of victory," said lawyer Osoro Mogikoyo, the lead counsel for petitioner, Walter Nyambati.
During the August elections, Nyaragama was declared winner having garnered over 65, 000 votes to Nyambati's 59, 000.
Multiple sources within Capital Hill intimates that ODM leader Raila Odinga is unhappy with Nyagarama over what he refers to as belittling him.
"Should Nyamira go for ballot, Nyagarama should forget about ODM. Jakom (Raila) is very disappointed with him," said a source, who spoke in confidence.
Another source added: "He says the governor belittles him and certainly he won't entertain him in ODM."
Throughout the torrid electioneering period, a moderate Nyagarama advocated for dialogue, an idea that was unpopular within ODM party.
Also, he failed to advocate for people's assembly in his county despite NASA's numerical strength.
