Opposition leader Raila Odinga has vowed to ensure that Canadian based lawyer Miguna Miguna who was deported on Tuesday last week by the government comes back.
Speaking during the burial of the father to ODM Communication director Philip Etale in Luanda, Vihiga county on Saturday, Raila said that they are engaging with the Canadian government to make sure Miguna comes back.The ODM Party leader also said that the (NASA) will file legal suits against the Jubilee administration for unlawfully arresting, detaining and later deporting Miguna.Raila said that Miguna's deportation was illegal, adding that the self-declared NRM leader is a Kenyan citizen."We will bring Miguna Miguna back because what Jubilee did by deporting him was unlawful," he said.Raila said that they will not negotiate with Jubilee when it comes to the matter of law.The former Prime Minister stated that Miguna's deportation was meant to scare NASA politicians and supporters.The self-declared people's president said that they will not be frightened, noting that the journey for electoral reforms is unstoppable.Raila asked Kenyans and his supporters to remain firm and peaceful assuring them of electoral justice and an end to impunity.Raila said that he will soon name his government days after he took oath as the people's president.The government deported Miguna on Tuesday night after he spends five days in police cells over his role in Raila's swearing in as the people's president.Miguna's deportation has been condemned and criticised with the government being accused of contravening the law.The Canadian based lawyer has vowed to fight back, saying that his rights were violated during his arrest, detention, and deportation.
