City lawyer Edwin Sifuna has been officially gazetted as Orange Democratic Movement party Secretary General after months in waiting.
In March this year, National Executive Council endorsed Sifuna's name before it was ratified by the National Governing Council.
But despite the development, Sifuna had to wait until on Thursday this week for the party to forward his name for gazzetment.
" In exercise and power conferred by section 20 (1) of the political parties Act, 2011, the Registrar of Political parties gives notice that ODM intends to change its party officials," ready a statement by Lucy Ndung'u.
When he informally appointed him early this year, Raila said he had confidence in Sifuna, who narrowly lost Nairobi senatorial seat.
"We need young men like Sifuna to push for the agenda of the party. I thank delegates for giving me such a young person."
In recent weeks, Sifuna has been steering the party agenda across the country. Before Ndung'u's changes, Ababu Namwamba remained the substantive SG despite quitting the party long ago.
