As Kenyans were busy glued on their television to see why President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win was nullified Odinga used the innovative strategy to ask them to contribute towards his campaign.

The NASA leader, who is taking a fourth stab at the Presidency, took to his Facebook page and embedded graphics with his Mpesa Paybill on the live video footage.

The opposition leader has continued to receive criticisms for asking Kenyans to support him financially.

Raila has, however, defended himself against the attacks saying that he is not he is first one to do so.

“In fact, in many countries where big business and the corporate world are in bed with the repressive State, volunteers and small donors are the ones who make the big difference,” Mr Odinga said during a press conference in Nairobi, as quoted by Nation.

He also said that he wants to use the opportunity to unite Kenyans in the road to Canaan.

“We want every Kenyan to be part of this historic journey because it offers each one of us a chance to ensure fidelity to the Constitution and restoration of our country’s glory that has been eroded by bad governance, corruption and tribalism.”
