Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has been put on spot for allegedly asking administration officers (Chiefs), to support Jubilee, or be sacked.
Nkaissery was heard through local television station, NTV, asking Chiefs in Kiambu county, to ensure locals register as voters so as he can remain in power in 2017.
He said the incumbent Jubilee administration will likely go home if they fail to do so, yet he did not want to go home.
"I don't want to go home. The Jubilee government must retain power after August elections. I also want to remain in government, and as you know, this will not happen if we don't have voters,'' Nkaissery told Chiefs in Kiambu.
He added: "You must ensure all Kenyans in your areas register as voters, to ensure Jubilee remains in power. If you become lazy at work, my pen is the final. When I say you should be sacked, there's no appeal to that.''
Cord leader Raila Odinga slammed Nkaissery's sentiments, saying he is working unconstitutionally, to mobilise Kenyans to support Jubilee.
As a civil servant, Odinga said Nkaissery should be impartial in his work, and stop aiding one side of the coalition.
