Cord leader Raila Odinga has once again reignited the devolution of security debate in the wake of Mandera terrorist attack that left 12 people dead.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Tuesday, Odinga reiterated that there was need for the national government to collaborate with counties on security issues.
"Devolving certain policing services ensures local front line service are accessible to communities throughout. This means focusing and getting communities involved in supporting local crime investigation," said Odinga.
Raila sentiments have been echoed by ICPCF Executive Director Ndung'u Wainaina who stated that constitutional changes in the same line will strengthen community protection.
At the same time Odinga, send a condolence message to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a quick recovery.
